Like many others, I’ve collected nuggets of wisdom, inspirational sayings, goofy statements, and a growing collection of self-quotes over the years. They provide a unique and fascinating bite-size window into any given topic.
What’s more, though, is what I’ve come to see about literature, that is: all writing is poetry. A simple sentence can speak volumes. An essay is typically written in prose but could be written in poetic form. I think of Ode to a Skylark as a treatise in concentrated form.
